About this conversion
One mbox file is awkward to work with when you only need a few letters out of it. EML is one message per file, which every mail client and most document viewers can open, so it is the format to use when the messages have to be filed, attached or handed to someone else.

You are not locked into EML
The file is parsed once and stays open, so the format is picked at the end rather than the beginning: the same .mbox can leave here as CSV, XLSX, ZIP, PDF, HTML, TXT or JSON. Before that you can search it by subject or address, filter by year, sender and attachment type, mark the duplicates and look through the archive overview.

- How do I get the files?
- As a single zip, built in the browser. Message names carry the date and subject so the folder stays readable.
- Are attachments kept?
- Yes. An .eml file holds the message with its attachments inside, exactly as it arrived.
